On May 16, 2023, Jupiter ends its stay in the sign of Aries and moves into Taurus, where it will stay until May 25, 2024.

Jupiter is the planet of luck, abundance, and expansion and was known by ancient astrologers as the greater benefic (or the luckiest planet). 

When Jupiter enters the earthy and grounded sign of Taurus – it offers the chance to make solid progress toward a dream or long-term goal and put down the roots for longevity and success. But don’t expect these things to come quickly – Taurus is slow (and stubborn) and we need to put in the work.

Jupiter in Taurus rewards dedication, focus, and hard work and it is a good time to focus back on the solid foundations to support our visions.

When Jupiter enters a new sign, everything about the way we expand our lives including our experiences, our knowledge, our worldview, and our approach to travel changes.

Whilst in Taurus, Jupiter will also make two significant aspects. 

It will conjunct the North Node on the 2nd of June 2023 which could accelerate your dreams and goals and set you on a path that feels intrinsic to your life’s purpose.

Towards the end of its transit through Taurus, it will conjunct Uranus on the 21st of April 2024. There is a chance that things you have been working on through Jupiter’s Taurean transit could experience something unexpected – this could be good or bad – but certainly eventful!

When was Jupiter in Taurus last?

The last time Jupiter was in Taurus was in 2011 so you can think back to what was going on in your life 12 years ago to get a sense of how you may experience this Jupiter transit.

In 2011 my daughter was 1 year old and I had returned to work but I was feeling deep dissatisfaction with how I earned my money (Taurus rules money). I wanted to do work that was not only more meaningful (Jupiter) but also work that allowed me to work from home (Taurus wants comfort) but I was worried about how I could ever replace my 6-figure corporate income (Taurus is concerned with safety and security). 

Taurus spans the 8th house in my natal chart so it’s not surprising that I wanted to go deeper with my work and that money concerns came to the forefront. I was also feeling incredibly dissatisfied with the Boss-employee relationship I found myself in.

When will Jupiter be in Taurus?

Jupiter enters Taurus on May 17th, 2023, and will stay there until May 26th, 2024. 

What can we expect when Jupiter is in Taurus?

You may experience feeling Patient, Calm, Grounded, and Optimistic but perhaps a little lazy as well.

It is good for Gradual, steady growth, Educating yourself, or writing a book or course but you need to watch out for Stubbornness and Laziness.

You’ll feel this expansive energy most if you have planets in Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius).

Where is transit Jupiter in Taurus activating your chart for the next year?

For me, it’s in my 8th house of Sex, Other People’s money, death, rebirth, and transformation. I have some big opportunities brewing relating to an investment in my work that would expand my reach significantly and this feels very Jupiter/8th house.
