There are a lot of different actions to take during a launch and when first starting out – it can feel very messy and overwhelming. It’s easy to convince yourself that launching is ‘too hard’ and ‘just not right for you’. But with seven years of business and over 20 launches under my belt, I’ve discovered my own signature system for soulful launching. With this system, I’ve discovered a few key ‘blind spots’ that a lot of entrepreneurs have with their launch. So here are five vital launch steps that you might be missing in your launch plan!

Step 1: Set realistic launch goals
When planning out a launch, you might be tempted to jump straight into launch calendars, launch budgets and launch models (which we’ll be talking about soon). But first of the five vital launch steps is to set realistic enrollment and revenue goals, with an emphasis on realistic.
Realistic launch goals give us something to work towards, something to expect – and can even be used to calculate your budget!
But what I hear from so many entrepreneurs is that they struggle to set realistic goals – or even worse, they don’t set any goals at all.
For example, I see lots of entrepreneurs base their enrollment goals on the price of their offering. So they increase their enrollment goals for lower priced offerings and decrease their enrollment goals for higher priced offerings. While this might seem logical, my experience has shown that enrollments are not affected by the price of an offering.
So how do you make sure your goals are realistic?
I teach a method of launch goal-setting based on three levels of goals: base, stretch and ultimate goals. These goals are based on your list-size (using a specific formula that I cover in my Launch Like A Pro challenge) and allow you to calculate realistic launch goals every time.
This method is especially valuable for those with a smaller list. While there are lots of ‘marketing experts’ claiming that you can’t launch with a list smaller than 1,000 people, it simply isn’t true!You can still launch with a smaller list! Click To Tweet

Step 2: Create a reasonable launch budget
How do you normally decide what to spend during your launch? Do you create a launch budget or do you just go all in and pluck a number out of thin air? Maybe you don’t even have a launch budget?
Most entrepreneurs I talk to, just go with the capital that they have available. While this isn’t always a bad thing – it can lead to under-investing or over-investing.
Did you know that your launch budget can actually influence your revenue goal? Or that the size of your list can help you to create a launch budget? And that each of these methods can be used to avoid spending too much or too little on your launch?

Step 3: Determine how you want to show up during your launch
After the first two vital launch steps, you might be feeling very strategic. But launch planning can be soulful too!
And in the third step, I want to talk about how you want to feel during your launch.
I hear launching described as ‘stressful’ and ‘overwhelming’ all of the time. I hear of entrepreneurs getting sick, burnt out and experiencing huge amounts of anxiety. And I get it – because that’s totally been me too!
So that’s why this step is so important. It means that we’re showing up for ourselves – as well as showing up for our launch.
To help you do this, I want you to visualise your ‘inner launch goddess’. What does she look like? How does she show up? What’s important to her?

Step 4: Compare a number of different launch models
Have you ever been caught doing something in your business because everyone else is doing it? Maybe it’s that awesome new social media trend? Or in lots of cases, a new strategic launch model!
The thing is: different launch models suit different types of people and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all model. That’s why it’s so important to compare a number of different launch models and decide on one that feels truly good for you. This is the fourth important step of the five vital launch steps.
It’s also important to assess your reasons for choosing one launch model over another. I have seen lots of entrepreneurs choosing a launch model thinking it will be the one that will lead them to success the quickest… only to be disappointed. There are no silver bullets or ‘easy’ launch models. You need to find the one that works for you!

Step 5: Create a spacious launch calendar
Launches are exciting times and it can be tempting to do all the things and cram them all into a two week period. Social media, blog posts, emails, webinars, video series, free PDF workbooks, limited bonuses… the opportunities are endless! But that doesn’t mean you have to do it all!
I often see entrepreneurs fill their launch calendar so much – that there is no room to move or pivot or play (which is super important during a launch!)
A launch calendar should be strategic with a few key dates and launch activities with lots of time and space to just ‘be’ during your launch. Believe me, things will pop up and while your calendar might look spacious, something always fills it!
