Many of my e-Course Launch Formula clients struggle with creating their e-Course because they feel like they are straddling two worlds.
The world that their tribe knows them for and the work they expect from them
The work they really want to birth into the world that is new and different.
They worry about what their existing tribe will think of this new direction or evolution.
So how do they manage this transition and bring their tribe on the journey?
And what the hell does this have to do with a “Hunky Boyfriend”?
My business is currently in a major transition phase. My kinesiologist this week referred to my business as my “hunky boyfriend”.
Don’t you just love that? It is strong, stable, growing and profitable and it just wants to take care of me. It can support me to go and learn about new things, to study, to experience and to evolve as an entrepreneur.
And being the type of entrepreneur that I am, I naturally want to take my tribe on my journey and share the new things I am learning even when they don’t quite match with what people know me for.
I’m kind of like a kid in a candy store!
But when you have a “hunky boyfriend” you don’t necessarily want to go and give him a whole new make-over when he is already pretty darn cute or in my case profitable!
I look at my website and my brand and it doesn’t feel 100% aligned. I’ve moved on since I rebranded as we all do, as we are constantly evolving beings. But that doesn’t mean it is the right time to go and do a major rebrand or create an e-Course that is totally separate to my current work.
It would be pretty silly to rebrand before I really feel clear on who I am (now), who I’m going to be and what I want to offer going forward.
So what I want to talk about today are ‘Gateway Products’ and by gateway I mean they are a gateway for your existing tribe to step into your newly evolving direction.
You likely have a tribe, and have become known for a certain thing but deep down inside of you – you have a passion for other things. You are worried about how this existing tribe will react to the new directions that are calling you.
But because let’s get real they are part of your soul’s purpose and your sacred contract you can’t ignore them.
It is a mixture of what you are currently doing or offering and the areas you want to evolve into. This does require that the two areas have some alignment, for example:
- a mindset coach who wants to bring in energetic healing techniques
- a health coach who wants to combine her love of essential oils
- a personal trainer who wants to bring health practices from the traditional and ancient world
- A stylist who wants to become a yogi
(by the way these are all examples of clients I know right now who are transitioning or have transitioned in their business)
Or an e-Course coach known for her practical strategy, planning and organisation skills who wants to bring a more spiritual, soulful and feminine approach to launch strategy (ummm that’s me in case you hadn’t guessed!).
I have two gateway products launching in the next few months:
- The e-Course Idea Generator is a gateway product because it includes my usual e-Course strategy and practical worksheets but we also look at alignment with your e-Course idea in depth and provide not one but four (!) guided meditations and other spiritual and mindset based tools.
- Launch Mastery which is launching in September is also a gateway product because whilst we will be covering building a team, maximising sales, launch planning and strategy we are also focusing heavily on alignment, intuition, mindset and spiritual and abundance practices with a focus on moving into the feminine model for business (rather than the masculine striving, hustling and holding on tightly).
In this way these products are a gateway from the old to the new. These new products share practices and rituals that I have previously kept to myself but that I have now decided I want to be part of what I am known for.
And, in fact, in five years time, my spiritual and feminine approach to business will probably be at the heart of my business.
These products will take some of my existing tribe on my journey whilst also attract people who may not have felt aligned with my work in the past.
This is much more effective than jumping in an extreme way from one focus or approach to the next e,g, from e-Course Launch Formula to a program about the Divine Feminine in business or Crystal Healing. I mean people might think I’d gone a little nuts if “overnight” (their reality not mine) I changed from being an e-Course coach to an energy healer right?
And the reality is any evolution like this takes time but the key is you don’t have to hide this – it is possible to merge and meld the two and take your tribe on that journey as you evolve.
