So there is a big myth going around the online world and it says that we need to have a big list in order to have a successful launch. And while I definitely try to honour average conversion rates and be realistic in my launches, I don’t think that your list is ever too small for an epic launch.
But maybe you’ve just launched your e-Course or Online Program… and you got crickets?
Or you didn’t reach your enrolment goals?
Perhaps you struggled to know how to market and promote your product or program?

I call it the epic launch strategy and it’s made up of four main phases:
- Pre-launch and list-building
- Launch and build urgency
- Convert fence sitters
- Bring this baby home
This strategy is designed to help you to beat the ‘big list’ statistics and have an epic launch every time. It’s focused on offering lots of generous and relevant free opt-ins, building trust and authority, attracting the right people to your list and keeping it fresh and engaged.

Epic Launch Strategy Phase 1: Pre-Launch and List-Building
The aim of this phase is to build your list prior to opening your course for enrolments. This is all about establishing your expertise and creating the desire to work with you.
Ideally, you want to enter this phase 2-6 weeks before your official launch date.
Your main focus during this time is your free opt-in. This might include:
- Free report, template, workbook or worksheet
- 30 day challenge
- Free mini course
- Free video series
- Pre-recorded webinars

Epic Launch Strategy Phase 2: Launch and build urgency
So the fun has begun and you’ve opened the doors for enrolment. Now what?
The aim of this phase is all about introducing your offering and building urgency and scarcity. Depending on your launch time frames, this phase will go for approximately 1-2 weeks.
Launch activities to do during this phase include:
- Daily social media posts
- Regular posts in relevant Facebook communities
- Regular emails to your list
- Weekly blog posts that promote your offering
- Guest blogs and interviews
- Engage your affiliates
- Ongoing list building with Facebook ads
This is also a great time to promote a time-urgent bonus. For example, I offer a special bonus for all those who enroll in Launch Mastery during the first 72 hours.

Epic Launch Strategy Phase 3: Convert fence sitters
You’ve built your list, you’ve launched your offering and now the excitement feels like it’s starting to wear off. So what do you do?
This is the time to connect, engage and convert those fence sitters in your community.
Once again, the length of this phase will depending on your launch time frames but roughly, you should have about 7 days to do this.
My favourite way of converting fence sitters is with a strategically designed webinar that attracts new leads and provides a generous amount of free content – as well as promoting your offerings!
This means you’ll want to create a webinar that does all of these things:
- Inspires and motivates
- Deals with objections and answers questions
- Wets their appetite
- Empower them to take action
You might also like to include a special offer for those on the call – giving them 24 to 72 hours to take action.

Epic Launch Strategy Phase 4: Bring this baby home
So you’ve done the hard yards and now, you’ve just got to bring this baby home!
The aim of this phase is to capture final sales through new subscribers – or those who are simply indecisive.
This phase will generally go for a few days up to a week.
Things that you might like to include during this phase include:
- Offering a new bonus
- Running a Q&A webinar or Facebook Live
- Sharing written or video testimonials
- Writing persuasive social media posts
And remember… most sales happen in the last 48 hours of your early-bird period and enrolment closing. So don’t give up yet!
